O system?

I'd like to create a comprehensive list of distributed I/O systems here in a community wiki. I'll designate one answer and we can edit it to contain the full list that we come up with. Also, please add your favorite ones as unique answers and let the community vote them up (or down).

I will start the list here. Please feel free to edit it if you have enough reputation (100 I think), or just answer below and someone will add it in for you:

DeviceNet has come along way over the years with its offerings, and is also available for safety applications. There are thousands of products available from hundred of vendors, relatively low cost, easy to configure and install. Most applications can set node addresses with thumb wheel switches, and cabling/cord sets make it easy to install. Trunk line style network works across many different platforms

EtherCAT
EtherNet/IP
PROFINET
PROFIBUS
AS-Interface
IO-Link Industrial Wireless

For Siemens platforms, I've seen us use all of the following:
