My Modbus messaging errored after I converted my SLC 5/05 program to a SLC 5/04. I ensured that my 5/04 had SLC firmware version 11 or greater which is required for Modbus comms through the serial port.

After discussion with Rockwell, it appears that the Modbus message command, even though it has exactly the same settings, must be deleted and re-instered into logic with a new message command. When all the previous settings are enetered back into the new command, the message will work properly. For some reason the message becomes corrupt during the conversion process.
