WW Intouch opens, but not WindowViewer or WindowMaker.

When trying to open Viewer or Maker, you would see the hour glass, but nothing would happen afterwards. When looking at the Task Manager, the file will be running in the background (In this case wm.exe or view.exe), but the GUI will not launch.

This tech note is really helpful.

What worked for us was:

  1. Check that licenses, software etc. look correct
  2. Create a new app and try to open it, if it still doesn’t open it a. We tried the Registry step in the tech note, since almost no new software was installed for a conflict. If that doesn’t fix it
  3. Run the computer in Safe Mode and try to open Viewer or Maker, if it works, then you have a software conflict
  4. If that works, try uninstalling the previously installed or updated software, in our case symantec, kaseya and synergy. Try opening Viewer/Maker and bring the software back one by one to find out which one was creating the conflict.

Note: It doesn’t necessarily need to be a newly installed software what creates the conflict, it could also be a recent update.

I would recommend to do the safe mode step before messing with the registry.
