I'm fairly new to the Controls Overload scene, but have a desire to be useful in any way that I can. What is the best way to be a successful contributor to this site, without having to check it 6 times a day to see if a question has been asked? RSS? Twitter?

TIA

The most valuable thing you can do is, when you have a question about control systems, ask it here. Other people, at some point in the future, will have that same question, and will be grateful that you asked it now, so we can document some helpful answers.

Many people are already willing to jump in and help by answering questions they know about, or even figuring out the answer themselves and posting. If you happen to discover the answer yourself, please jump in and post an answer to your own question documenting it. There are a couple of times I did this on StackOverflow.com, and then when I or someone else had that same problem again, I was able to refer back to the answer that I had already documented online.

The second most valuable thing you can do is to demonstrate the site to people who might be interested in it. Telling them about the site usually isn't enough to get them to try it, but once you demonstrate the usefulness, it usually clicks. If they have a question, post the question for them, and then send them a link to any answers.

If you're a vendor, we would love it if you could monitor the RSS feed for your technology. For instance, the RSS feed for questions tagged "sensors" is:

http://controlsoverload.com/feeds/tag/sensors

We would also love it, if you have a blog, newsletter or any online presence, please tell your audience about this site. Explain how it benefits them. Thanks!
