Sounds like a common issue that can be resolved by doing the following:

Go to FactoryTalk Directory Configuration Wizard and choose FactoryTalk Network Directory. Click OK. Click Next. Reset the administrators account for the Network directory—>Log in using administrator’s name and password. Click Next. Add this computer to the Network Directory, then click Next. Set initial access permissions, then click Next. Finish Network Directory Configuration, then click Next. Summary - Click Finish. Go to Programs > Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Administrator Console. Choose Network. Login using administrator's name and password. Go under computers and groups > Computers Highlight old computer name, right click and choose Delete.
